Do not be a Jack of all trade leader, who do not want to equip others to get the job done.
Building your capacity as a leader, involves you equipping others. Do not be selfish to build your capacity and not build others'

It was said by a great author John C. Maxwell that "you grow a company by growing people in the company" that is absolutely right.
Growing others can be related to developing others.
Out of the three thoughts on developing others is Equipping. Equipping others as a leader is a great step of developing others, equipping simply means giving out methods and steps on how jobs need to be done. Most unsuccessful leaders failed this principle by not equipping their followers, this has made some followers stagnant of growth.
As a leader who want to achieve greatness, you need to provide necessary efficient words, actions and materials things to your followers to achieve greatness.
In this post I will be giving out five steps to equip others as a leader. These steps are useful for entrepreneur and business woman and man who have apprentice or employees with them in their office or business.

STEPS TO EQUIP OTHERS

1. I do it -
When you have a task or job that you want it done by your follower, you need to first do it for them to gain procedures and steps on how to get the job done.
Be an exemplary leader, do it first.
2. I do it with you -
Successful leaders need this second step to equip their followers or others. Like the first step says I do it, this second step says I do it with you, this is where you involve your followers to do the task with you to gain experience on how to get the task done when you're not around them.
3. You do it and am with you -
This step is when you leave the task to your followers to do, then you supervise while they carry out the task or job.
4. You do it well -
At this stage your follower are fully equipped, they can get the task done without your presence.
5. You do it and somebody is with you -
It is a good thing to equip others and seeing those you equipped to equip others. This step shows that your followers are now capable to train and equip others as well. While your followers are doing their job somebody is with them, they are training and equipping. Leadership is about a continuous influence.
As a leader always follow this steps to equip others, it will be your joy when you see those you equipped, equipping other as well.
